Hello all! It’s almost convention time!

The American Atheists team arrived in Salt Lake City late last night and we are putting the finishing touches on gettng everything ready for you. Online registration is now closed, but full registration AND one-day passes are available at the door!

If you haven’t yet downloaded the convention app for iPhone and Androidplease do so now. We are using it to make announcements in advance of the convention, so don’t delay!

Tomorrow night is our famous annual Dinner with the Stars and Auction! This is our most elegant affair of the year and a simply unparalleled event: a beautiful plated meal—spinach salad with spiced pecans, pears and port wine vinaigrette; pistachio dusted tofu in a creamy leek sauce or roasted beef tenderloin with salmon; and a breathtaking Dessert Trio with marinated berries, petite creme brulee and chocolate pate and more—all while seated right alongside your favorite atheist headliners, including Chris Kluwe, Academy Award-nominated animator David A. Silverman, Denise Stapley, Mark White, Maryam Namazie, Seth Andrews, Matt Dillahunty, Barbara Hillary, Juan Mendez, PZ Myers, and more.

Just before the Dinner with the Stars tomorrow is the Art Show Preview (open only to Dinner with the Stars attendees and Life Members), and we have JUST ADDED a very special treat: the dazzling, nationally touring acoustic indie band Bramble, who just happen to be local to Salt Lake City! This is going to be a FUN TIME so get ready!

I live in Salt Lake City and I wanted so badly to attend, but it’s just too much money. Good luck–hope it’s a great success. I’m enjoying the press you’re getting here.

Yeah, these conventions seem to be for people with some extra cash.

I too have found, through the years, that A/A functions have become too expensive for the ordinary person to afford in these troublesome economically distressing times. They have placed themselves far beyond the reach of the ordinary person and will no doubt reep the whirlwind of furure loss of attendance. It’s a shame that they can’t be satisfied with reaching more people and forgetting the profit incentive.
