Support Our Work

Donor Bill of Rights

We are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us when choosing to support our work. As a valued partner, we make the following commitments to you.

01

Stay Informed

You have the right to be informed about our mission and vision, our values, and the way we use contributions. Financial reports are posted on our website and are also available upon request.

02

Accountability

We want you to hold us accountable. You have the right to expect our staff and board of directors will act fairly, prudently, and without conflicts of interest.

03

Giving Purpose

We pledge that your contributions will be used in accordance with the purpose(s) for which they were given.

04

Privacy

You have the right to control your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise exchange your personal information and will only share your information with partners with your express permission.

05

Safe & Secure

You have the right to expect that we will keep your financial information safe and secure.

06

Contact Preferences

You have the right to be removed from mail, email, and call lists. You can request this at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

07

Code of Conduct

Our staff, board, and volunteers are bound to a comprehensive code of conduct — as is everyone who attends our events. We take all concerns raised to us seriously and will act promptly to address them.

08

Sensitivity

We are committed to destigmatizing atheism. At the same time, we are sensitive to the fact that some of our members live or work in places where they are still unable to be open about their nonbelief. In those cases, we make every effort to maintain your confidentiality.

09

Planned Gifts

Trusts, bequests, and other planned gifts are special donations that require a heightened level of care. We will respect your decisions, including your decision to change the way you support our work — or even to stop supporting our work. We will always strive to make you proud of your past and future support of our work.

10

Feedback

You have the right to ask questions and provide feedback and receive a prompt, constructive, and courteous response.

You Know What We Stand For. Now Stand With Us.

These commitments exist because your trust matters to us. Support American Atheists and help us keep fighting — for atheists everywhere, with full accountability to you.
